Full Siding Replacement – Clifton Ranch

Project Overview

A 1970s ranch home in Clifton, NJ had its original aluminum siding replaced with modern insulated vinyl siding. The old siding was severely faded, had multiple dented and cracked panels, and provided virtually no insulation value.

Analysis

Inspection revealed the original aluminum siding had been painted over twice and was failing at all seams. We found areas of damaged house wrap and one section of rotted sheathing near the front bay window where water had been infiltrating for years.

Process

Week 1: Tear-off, sheathing repairs, new house wrap. Week 2: Trim installation and siding on all four elevations. The project took 8 working days total. Homeowners remained in residence throughout.

Outcome

The project dramatically transformed the home appearance. Energy audit showed a 12% reduction in heating load. All water infiltration was eliminated. The homeowner received a 50-year limited warranty on siding and a 5-year workmanship guarantee.
